Bantayan Island

by Manilenio! on February 16, 2009

Located at the geographic center of the Philippine archipelago, Bantayan is at the northwestern tip of [tag]Cebu[/tag]. The town of [tag]Santa Fe[/tag] in [tag]Bantayan[/tag] island is known for its bucolic setting and white sand beaches. Several resorts and hotels pepper this little town for holiday makers.

Bantayan is easily accessible by boat from either Cebu City or [tag]Negros[/tag]. The Cebu ferry ([tag]Palacio Shipping Lines[/tag] contact no. 255 4528) leaves at around 9PM twice a week and takes around 9 hours. If you’d like to take a shorter boat ride, you can depart from [tag]Sagay[/tag] Negros (Island Shipping contact no. 352 5103). This ferry leaves every other day and takes just a couple of hours.

Bantayan is one of the best in Cebu, though it may take 5 to 6 hours by Airland and by land from Mactan Airport, it’s worth it. It’s so peaceful and quite you can really enjoy everything in Bantayan.I’d like to go back here next year.
