Caramoan Peninsula
Caramoan Peninsula is a beach Paradise located in Southern Luzon in the Philippines. Caramoan is known for its white sand beaches and islands that dot its crystal-clear waters.
Early this year, Caramoan became the setting of “Koh-Lanta Caramoan” a French version of the reality TV series “Survivor.”
With the recent media exposure and the tide of tourists flocking this paradise, Caramoan is being touted as “the next Boracay.”
Personally, I hope Caramoan won’t go the way of Boracay. Boracay as we know it is overdeveloped, crowded and polluted. Local officials should bear in mind that while tourism will bring in money, development should be sustainable and its impact on the environment should be minimized.

Anywhy,Caramoan peninsula still retained its adventure,backpacking and outdoor appeal because of the environmental
efforts of the Governor L-Ray Villafuerte to regulate, preserve and conserve the natural beauty of the place. It did not turn into Boracay type atmosphere which more of the conservationis and environmentalists concerns…Caramoan peninsula is still hidden, far and still unexplored and mysterious as it used to be.
Chronology of tourism in caramoan:
Before-So litle was known about Caramoan.It just a simple town in Camarines Sur.People are involved in trading/fishing/farming.The town was still influence with left leaning group.
1982-Fr.Felix Barela was assigned in Caramoan and he
the statue of Blessed Virgin Mary of peace which is situated at the top of Mt.Caglago,tabgon,Caramoan.It started as a pigrimage tour to caramoan of priests,nuns and believers who visited the shrine.After their religious tour to the grotto, Father Felix Barela sidetrip the guests to the beautiful islands.The blessed statue started the tourism in Caramoan.
1983-1998-local Mountaineers(us as a part of it),backpackers,campers and outdoor enthusiasts came in caramoan to explore,discover, hike and camp at the best islands,beaches, caves and mountains.
1983-2004-Former Governor and now Hon congressman of 2ND District of Camarines Sur-Luis R.Villafuerte promoted the caramoan extensively by promotional ads,in trade fair,magazines, photo contests,etc.to the world.
2004-Present-The Present,energetic,young and good looking,flamboyant,workaholic,industrious> Hon.Governor L-Ray Villafuerte who made Cam.Sur well known to the world by creating the 1ST WORLD CLASS Wake Boarding Center CWC) in the Philippines,also developed the gota beach into a world class resort.He aggressively promoted Caramoan to

Maganda talaga dito sa Caramoan. Paradise on earth! That’s why it was chosen by the French Survivor as its setting. Marami nagsasabi na ito ang next Boracay. Pero wag naman sana… sa itsura ng Boracay ngayon na puro bars at restaurants sa shore at maingay pag gabi at pagkatapos ay puro lumot na beach, mas gugustuhin ko na ma-preserve ang Caramoan.

punta na kayo caramoan maganda talaga jan.! naputa kami caramoan ng mga friends ko last january 2008, on going construction palang ung mga cottage jan sa gota beach may mga sundalo pa..may mga inn sa centro(bayan) kaso mejo malau sa gota beach..kasabay din nmen nagpunta ung cast ng survivor france season 8, pati nung nagpunta kami sa isang island after several minutes andun n dn cla..ang saya nga nla, kami hndi na makabwelo sa dami nla..ansaya nga nla, mga bwisit cla..hehehe kung madami kau budget, try nyo sa misibis beachfront resort sa albay..punta dn kau sa bahay nmen mejo malapit lng dun..hehehe
