The Pixar Touch by David Price is a ballad of the animation company that gave us Toy Story, Monsters Inc., Finding Nemo and other blockbuster animations films.
The books starts out with a history of the computer animation history, which is a bit too technical for people not familiar with this field. The rest of the book however, provides an entertaining read that covers how Pixar Started out as a hardware company that did animation shorts as promotional material, which was eventually bought by Steve Jobs.
Though some parts of the book may be too technical for non 3D animation enthusiasts, overall the The Pixar Touch is good book that gives an insider view on how a company, which almost failed, became as famous as the Disney brand.

The Google Story is a book about the largest internet company of our time. It tells the story of two Stanford University Computer Science students, Sergey Brin and Larry Page, on how they planned to organize the world’s information and made billions in the process. Now in its tenth year, Google is poised to conquer not only the internet but also the way we live.
The Google Storyis overall a light read that gives a glimpse into this googley-eyed company, it is a perfect reading for those who have an inclination to technology and the internet.

Have you ever been in a position where you think you have nowhere to go, and are wondering whether you should quit or you should stick it out? If yes, we all understand how confusing and stressful this particular point of your life is. Fortunately the book The Dip
by Seth Godin is very helpful on how to go about this situation. He presents situations like “the cul-de-sac” and “the ravine.”
Of course this book does not claim to have the right solutions, it is rather a guide to those who’d like to start sorting things out and in the end become the best in the thing you do.

The passage “Jobs is an elitist who thinks most people are bozos —but he makes gadgets easy to use, a bozo can master them…” pretty well sums up the the book Inside Steve’s Brain by Leander Kahney. It is a light read that delves into the psyche of Jobs and condenses them in bullet points at the end of each chapter. It is an entertaining read but it also gives lessons that you can apply in your life, job or business.

I found this Johnny Bunko book while browsing through several business titles one Sunday afternoon. I was intrigued by the cover and didn’t put it down until I finished reading it.
The book is presented manga style, something unconventional for its genre (at least for the rest of the world). But with the pieces of advice provided in the book, I have to say that the content is just fitting with the way it is delivered.
The book is entertaining, something geared towards those who are in their 20s and are just starting off with their careers. It starts with Johnny, a cubicle dweller who suddenly finds himself with a genie giving him 6 chunks of advice on his career every chapter.
The pieces of advice are revealed and explained one chapter at a time:
1. There is no plan
2. Think about strengths, not weaknesses
3. It’s not about you
4. Persistence trumps talent
5. Make excellent mistakes
6. Leave an imprint
Overall this book is great for college graduates or people who are clueless on what they should pursue as a career. Not too wordy and preachy, it is definitely a book made for light reading but it will leave you with tons of insights about your career and life.
