Puraran Beach

Located in Baras Catanduanes, Puraran Beach is famous for its surf break called “The Majestics.” The beach cove with long barrel waves perfect was said to be discovered as a surfing destination in the 1970s by Aussie Peter Sutton. August to October is when international surfers from Japan and Australia descend and resorts are fully booked, so if you’re not a surfer it is best to come to Puraran during the dry months of March to May.

Puraran can be reached by a plane from Manila to Virac. From Virac take an hour and a half long jeepney ride from to Baras. And then from Baras take a ticycle ride to Puraran beach.

The two resorts in the beach are Puting Baybay and Majestics. Both offer the same rates.
