Snake Island is a white sand beach named as such due to its elongated and winding sand bar resembling a snake. It is easily accessible from Puerto Princesa, the capital city of Palawan. Aside from swimming, travelers here can hire boats and snorkel off the shores and feed the fish. There are also small islands surrounding Snake island’s waters, you can easily ask boatmen to take you island hopping for a fee.

This a low tech tactic but it will definitely allow people to know that your blog exists.

14. Add a signature in your outgoing emails with your URL
A simple way to promote your blog. You’ll be amazed how many visitors will be directed through your email signatures.

15. Place your URL in your letterheads and business cards
This is common sense but some people overlook this stuff

You can also make this treat to supplement your income.

To make chocolate covered polvoron, please follow the recipe below.

Polvoron mixture:

2 cups of all purpose flour
2 cups powdered milk
1 cup refined sugar
1 cup butter

Chocolate sauce:

1 cup dark Chocolate
1/2 cup Fresh Milk
1/4 cup Granulated sugar

Toast the flour in a shallow pan until it turns light brown. Place in a bowl and mix in the powdered milk, refined sugar and melted butter. Set aside to cool. Pack the mixture in polvoron pressers using a spoon and place the polvoron pieces in a plate and store in the freezer for an hour.

Melt the chocolate in a bowl using a double boiler or in a steamer. Mix in the fresh milk and granulated sugar. Mix well until it is smooth.

Stick in a plastic toothpick in a polvoron piece gently and dip it in the chocolate sauce to coat. Insert in something sturdy like a styro block. Wrap or store as you like.

Enjoy your chocolate coated polvoron!

It is located in the north of Manila in the province of Pangasinan, which is also known for the Hundred Islands national park. There are several resorts along the beach and some offer decent rates for budget travelers. Most of these resorts in Patar are made of the typical bamboo and palm huts which add to the bucolic charm of this tourist spot. Nearby is the Cape Bolinao light house, which you can arrange to visit for a side trip.

How To Get There
Patar beach is easily reachable by land. You can get a bus or drive to the town of Bolinao. Bus companies Victory Liner, Five Star and Dagupan Bus have routes to Pangasinan.

When driving to Patar beach, take the North Luzon Expressway and exit at Dau. Take the road going to Baguio, and go through Tarlac City. At the Victory Liner junction take the road to Camiling and Bugallon. Drive until the next junction at Bugallon and take the road to Sual and Alaminos, Pangasinan. Pass through the town of Bani and turn right to Bolinao.

The trip to Bolinao usually takes 4-5 hours.

QC Recycling Market at SM and Trinoma

The Quezon City Environmental Protection and Waste Management Department is holding recycling markets in select Quezon City Malls every month. Recyclable items like paper products, plastics, glass bottles, used computers and equipment can be exchanged for cash. Though some items like fluorescent bulbs, used batteries and old tires cannot be traded for cash, you’ll be assured that the recyclers will properly dispose these for you. Here are the details on what can be sold, where to sell and when:

1. Paper Products (Newspapers, assorted paper, old books, magazines, corrugated cardboard)
2. Plastic (plastic utensils, pvc pipes, pail, basin, CD cases, monobloc furniture, plastic bags)
3. Metal (scrap iron, tin cans, metal sheets, aluminum, bronze, copper)
4. Glass bottles
5. Ink Cartridges and toners
4. Computers, printers, A/V players, amplifiers

It comes in white but doesn’t look like a VTech toy, has a whopping 160 GB of hard drive, 1 GB of RAM, a 1.6 GHz atom Intel processor and thankfully is installed with good ‘ol Windows XP. The selling price is $470, or around 23,000 Philippine pesos. We just wish the peso dollar would improve so we can really enjoy this new tech toy in the Philippines.

I wonder when’s the exact time we would be enjoying this game in Philippines, hmm…
