Hanauma Bay in Oahu, Hawaii

Hanauma Bay in Oahu Hawaii is actually an ancient volcanic crater that was flooded and formed a bay. It is now a popular beach destination in Hawaii and is a favorite spot for snorkeling and swimming. The bay is a known habitat for green sea turtles and parrotfish. Hanauma bay was proclaimed in 1967 as a marine life conservation district to protect the bay’s aquatic habitat from further degradation.
