Pro Bono NAIA Rehab Plan

by Manilenio! on October 28, 2011

Voted as one of the world’s worst airports, the NAIA Terminal 1 has been long overdue for a rehabilitation and renovation. Taking the initiative, renowned designers Budji Layug, Royal Pineda and Kenneth Cobonpue, along with NAIA’s architects and engineers have come up with the a rehabilitation proposal for the decades-old structure. The proposal calls for a rehabilitation that will convert the terminal into a “boutique airport,” which features landscaped waiting areas, wide walkways, a new concessionaires area, and a two-level road for departure and arrival gates.
