Patar Beach in Bolinao, Pangasinan
Patar is one of the fine beaches in Luzon. It is located in the north of Manila in the province of Pangasinan, which is also known for the Hundred Islands national park. There are several resorts along the beach and some offer decent rates for budget travelers. Most of these resorts in Patar are made of the typical bamboo and palm huts which add to the bucolic charm of this tourist spot. Nearby is the Cape Bolinao light house, which you can arrange to visit for a side trip.
How To Get There
Patar beach is easily reachable by land. You can get a bus or drive to the town of Bolinao. Bus companies Victory Liner, Five Star and Dagupan Bus have routes to Pangasinan.
When driving to Patar beach, take the North Luzon Expressway and exit at Dau. Take the road going to Baguio, and go through Tarlac City. At the Victory Liner junction take the road to Camiling and Bugallon. Drive until the next junction at Bugallon and take the road to Sual and Alaminos, Pangasinan. Pass through the town of Bani and turn right to Bolinao.
The trip to Bolinao usually takes 4-5 hours.

Pls go to GOOGLE :” Patar Beach Bolinao”; read my short blogs last late March and April 2009. You will get the info that you want including contact numbers and how to go about the places you’ve mentioned (Phil Marine Inst., Enchanted Cave, Falls no. 2 & what to bring there, transport fare for the boat, etc).
I’m not actually fond of blogging but just did it to help inquirers and reveal / promote this wonderful creation of our Creator in northern Luzon. Hope you do the same for HIS glory.

In our case, I initially thought about Rock Garden Resort which had the least expensive accomodation. Unfortunately, when we got there, all their cost friendly rooms are fully booked. We ended up knocking each available resort. Fortunately, we got an absolutely perfect rate from this very kind and accomodating guy….to the extent that I promised him i’ll post his number on the blogs to payback the discounts.
…prices are quite negotiable…i mean it.
—by the way, if ever you’ll call him, kindly inform him you got the number from a post by Ian on the internet (that guy who promised you to post your number); Just so he knows i didn’t break my promise cause I told him to give me the same rate when I come back, which i’ll surely do.

Hi we just got back from our Bolinao trip and it is truely a wonderful experience. I enjoyed every bit of Bolinao specially the resort.
We stayed at Ilog Malinos Beach resort and we promised to stay there again in our next trip.
